Now We Support Short Films

Change is the essence of progress, and in our continuous quest to elevate the New York Festival, we have embarked on a transformative journey. In the past, our esteemed critics meticulously watched popular films and handpicked a winner, recognizing excellence in storytelling. However, we have decided to expand our horizons and embrace a more inclusive approach.

We are proud to announce that we have changed our selection process, opening submissions to all filmmakers, with a particular emphasis on independent filmmakers and short films. By doing so, we aim to create a platform that celebrates diverse voices, uncovers hidden gems, and showcases the immense talent of emerging filmmakers.

No longer limited to feature films, we have introduced a monthly selection of short films as well. This change enables us to stay agile, connect to independent filmmakers, and capture the pulse of the rapidly evolving film landscape. Each month, our dedicated panel of experts will meticulously review the submissions, seeking out extraordinary storytelling, innovative approaches, and captivating performances.

We believe that this shift will unearth groundbreaking works that may have otherwise remained undiscovered. We recognize the tremendous potential within independent filmmakers and short films, as they often push the boundaries of traditional storytelling and offer unique perspectives on the human experience.

We invite all passionate filmmakers, both established and emerging, to seize this opportunity and submit their work. We eagerly await the discovery of remarkable films that will inspire, provoke, and leave an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape.

The New York Film Festival has always been a platform for exceptional storytelling, and with this new chapter, we strive to enrich the festival experience by embracing the diversity of filmmaking. Join us on this exciting journey as we showcase the best and brightest talents from around the world and celebrate the art of cinema in its many captivating forms.
